MEF - Iran veteran international striker Ali Daei is
seriously linked with Al-Wahda of Abu Dhabi, this being announced by the
club’s spokesman on Monday.
“Yes, we are undergoing serious talks with the Iranian centre-forward,”
stated the club spokesman in the aftermath of signing a one-year deal with
Chilean striker Cristian Montecinos.
Daei was impressive last season at Al-Shabab of Dubai before moving back to
Iran in the close-season, netting 11 goals for the Dubai outfits despite
being out of action for almost 2 months due to a recurring knee injury.
“His clinical finishing in his first appearance in the United Arab Emirates
was simply amazing, and given the fact he is so popular within the local
supporters everywhere in the country I strongly believe he will be a strong
addition to the side,” added the club spokesman.
