avoid relegation when they overcame Perugia at the Stadio Garilli.
The home side started brightly and Oscar Cordoba in the visitors' goal
had to be at his best to deny Carmine Gautieri, Paolo Poggi and Sergio
Volpi.
The Colombian international keeper was finally beaten after 31 minutes
when Eusebio Di Francesco beat the offside and finished smartly with a
fine drive into the far corner.
Perugia made changes at half time in an effort to get back into the
game, bringing on Fabian O'Neill who was surprisingly left out of the
starting line-up.
Although the visitors dominated the second half, Piacenza always looked
dangerous on the break and it came as no real surprise when Dario Hubner
doubled the lead with five minutes remaining.

rounded the keeper before side-footing into the net for his 21st goal of
the Serie A season.
