PLDC - Siah Jamegan’s relegation from Iran Professional League (IPL) was confirmed on Friday as the Mashhad-based football team suffered a defeat to Esteghlal.
In the match held in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium, Siahjamegan lost to Esteghlal 4-1 and dropped down from IPL to the first division.
With four weeks remaining, Naft Tehran, Esteghlal Khuzestan, Sepidrood, Padideh, Sepahan and Tractor Sazi are also in danger of relegation.
One team will join Siahjamegan in dropping down to the first division.
“I was surprised when I found out the players are not sad at the locker room after the relegation,” Siahjamegan coach Davoud Mahabadi said.
