Tasnim - Iran's head coach Abbas Chamanian said his young players learnt from the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup.
Iran made history in the competition underway in India with advancing to the event’s last eight for the first time.
"I'm really happy that we got to play five games. It's been an amazing experience for the players and the coaching staff,” Chamanian said.
“We’ve learnt a lot from the competition. Our players can build future of Iran football,” he added.
Iran, who had defeated Guinea (3-1), Germany (4-0), Costa Rica (3-0) and Mexico (2-1), lost to Spain 3-1 and failed to advance to semi-final.
“The first 20 minutes we were terrible. We were disorganized and freely let them into attacking positions. The link-up between forwards and midfielders was terrible. And when we were settling down, they scored the goal that changed the match’s tempo,” Chamanian concluded.
