In the match held in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium, Rouzbeh Cheshmi gave the Blues a lead in the 12th minute. It was Esteghlal’s second goal after seven weeks in IPL.
Zob Ahan reacted to the goal and put Esteghlal under pressure. The visiting team finally broke Esteghlal’s resistance and Mohammad Nejadmahdi found the back of the net in the 78th minute.
Esteghlal sits 14th in the table and Zob Ahan is fourth with 10 points, six points behind IPL leader Pars Jonoubi.
On Thursday, Sepahan will host Persepolis in Isfahan, Esteghlal Khuzestan meet Sepidrood Rasht and Siahjamegan play Gostaresh Foolad.
