Tasnim - Former head coach of Iran U-20 football team has been named as new head coach of Iran U-23 football team on Saturday.
Iran will play Kyrgyzstan and Oman in the 2018 AFC U-23 Championship qualification in July under guidance of Peyrovani.
Peyrovani’s Iran failed to qualify for the World Cup knockout stag in South Korea in early June after being defeated by Zambia and Portugal, despite a win over Costa Rica.
Iran U-23 football team has not qualified for the Olympics since 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal, Quebec.
The 47-year-old coach has already worked in Iran’s U-23 football team as an assistant in 2009.
