PFDC - IPL's worst team of the season, Malavan of Anzali beat Tehran giants Persepoils in the return leg of the Iranian Hazfi Cup of 2003 at 5-2. Persepolis won the first leg at 2-0 in Tehran.

The game in Anzali was played in a wet and muddy pitch which made the match an unpleasant one to watch. The game ended for the favor of the home team with strikes from Hamrang and a penalty kick by Gholami to take the game into penalty shoot-outs to determine the team to climb to the semi-finals.

Persepolis was the unlucky side when three strikes from Ansarian, Rahbarifard and Tartar were not at target when Malavan scored all three to win the game 5-0 and therefore 5-2 in aggregate.

Malavan will play against the winner of Esteghlal-Sepahan match in which Sepahan won the first leg at 3-0.
