TEHRANTIMES - Iranian national football team will play a friendly game against Thailand in Bangkok’s Rajamangala stadium on November 10, according to reports in local media.
Iran are scheduled to take on Syria in their fifth game of the AFC World Cup qualifying campaign on November 15th in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and the friendly game against Thailand five days ahead will be considered as a warm up game.
Team Iran who are currently second in Group A with four points after a 2-0 win over Qatar in Tehran and a goalless draw against China in Shenyang will play their third match against group leaders Uzbekistan in Tashkent before meeting South Korea in Tehran five days later.
Iran’s Portuguese coach Carlos Queiroz has called up 17 players for the 9-day Armenia preparatory camp ahead of the Uzbekistan clash.
Goalkeeper: Alireza Beyranvand, Alireza Haghighi, Mohammadreza Akhbari,
Defenders: Seyyed Jalal Hosseini, Ramin Rezaeian, Vourya Ghafouri, Saeid Aghaei, Ezzatollah Pourghaz and Mohammad Ansari.
Midfielders: Andranik Teymourian, Ehsan Hajisafi, Darioush Shojaeian, Omid Ebrahimi and Soroush Rafiei.
Forwards: Mehdi Torabi, Vahid Amiri, Mehdi Taremi.
Iran has been drawn in Group A of the World Cup qualification along with Uzbekistan, China, Qatar and Syria.
The winner and runner-up of each group (four teams in total) will qualify for the Russia 2018, while the third-placed teams of each group will advance to the Asian play-off.
