Tasnim - Former president of Iran Football Federation Ali Kaffashian has been named as new director of Iran’s Committee Futsal.

He replaced Reza Eftekhari, who left the post to be appointed as acting president of Esteghlal football club.

The Iranian futsal team is preparing for the 2016 FIFA Futsal World Cup in Colombia.

Iran has been drawn in Group F along with Spain, Morocco and the Azerbaijan Republic.

Kaffashian is also among the candidates who will contest for the new seats on FIFA’s ruling council.

The election will be held on September 27 in Goa, India.
