Tasnim - Esteghlal of Tehran's defender Mohammad Hossein Kananizadegan faces long spell on the sidelines after undergoing knee surgery on Wednesday.
The Iranian football club did not announce how long he will be out of action but reports in the media indicate that the defender is likely to be absent for several months.
Kananizadegan suffered a torn ACL in his knee in the Iran Professional League second week in the match against Esteghlal Khuzestan.
Kananizadegan joined Esteghlal in the summer transfer window.
