Tehrantimes - Iranian international midfielder Saeid Ezatolahi who scored FC Rostov’s first official goal against Anderlecht in the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round match, stated that he is glad to repay Kurban Berdyev’s trust.
“Last season I had ITC problem in the first six month and in the second half of the season the team was doing great and Berdyev preferred not to make changes in the squad. But in the pre-season camp I worked hard to reach the starting lineup and now I’m glad to repay the trust of Berdyev,” Ezatolahi said.
“Anderlecht is a well-known club in Europe and they regularly play in the Champions League group stage. We conceded two goals on two mistakes but I don’t think a 2-2 draw at home will be considered as a bad result. We will try our best for a win in Belgium for a place in the Champions League group stages,” he added.
Ezatolahi is the first scorer of the club in the European match and also the youngest ever Iranian player to score at the Champions League.
