Tasnim - Iranian international midfielder Masoud Shojaei has joined Greek Super League side Panionios on Friday.

The 32-year-old midfielder will be reunited with his countryman Karim Ansarifard in the team.

Shojaei joined Al-Gharafa in 2015 and played 25 matches for the Qatari club scoring four goals.

He spent the entire of his professional career in Osasuna, playing for the Spanish team from 2008 to 2013.

Panionios, who finished in the fifth-placed team of the 2015–16 Superleague, would have qualified for the Europa League second qualifying round, but was excluded from participating in the 2016–17 European competitions by UEFA for financial reasons. As a result, the berth was given to the sixth-placed team PAS Giannina.
