TEHRANTIMES - Iran national football team head coach Carlos Queiroz has stated that the two upcoming preparatory camps in Armenia and Austria have been canceled due to not having enough players.
“The clubs won’t let the players to attend in the national team trainings so we decided to cancel the preparatory camps in Armenia and Austria,” Queiroz told reporters.
“I’ve prepared a new schedule in which we will have the players just four days before our official games according to the FIFA calendar. I hope we could get good results in the World Cup qualifying games,” the Portuguese coach added.
Iran has been drawn with South Korea, Uzbekistan, Qatar, Syria and China in Group A.
Carlos Queiroz men will host Qatar in the first game of 2018 World Cup qualification third round on September 1.
