TEHRANTIMES - Esteghlal football club has signed 26-year-old midfielder Bakhtiar Rahmani from Tractor Sazi on a two-year deal.

Rahmani, who scored six goals in 29 appearances, is one of major signings of new coach Alireza Mansourian.

“I’m so happy to join Esteghlal as I even reject Qatari club offer to join the Blues. I was waiting for the new coach to be appointed by the club and now I’m happy to work with Mansourian. I hope I can make Blues’ fans happy with my performance,” Rahmani said.

Rahmani has previously worked under Alireza Mansourian in the U-23 national team. He was also named in Iran's 2014 FIFA World Cup squad by Carlos Queiroz. However, he did not play for Team Melli in the tournament, which he was unused substitute in three matches.
