Eamon Zayed

TEHRANTIMES - Former Persepolis striker Eamon Zayed paid tribute to the late Hadi Norouzi after scoring for his new team Indy Eleven against New York Cosmos in the NASL match at IUPUI’s Carroll Stadium on Saturday.

Indy Eleven turned a potentially disappointing defeat into a breath-taking victory during second half stoppage time against the New York Cosmos, as Eamon Zayed’s late brace gave the home side a 2-1 comeback win in front of 9,067 fans.

Zayed showed a No. 24 jersey during his second goal celebration to pay tribute to his former teammate.

Zayed made a name for himself after scoring a hat-trick in 74th Tehran derby with Persepolis being reduced to 10-men and 2–0 behind. He scored three goals in the space of ten minutes to put Persepolis into a 3-2 lead.

On 1 October 2015, Norouzi died of heart attack in sleep at the age of 30. At the time of his death, he was Persepolis's captain.
