Tasnim - Former Iranian national team's captain Javad Nekounam's shirt number has been confirmed for Al-Arabi, and it's No. 92.

Nekounam is reunited with his countryman Ashkan Dejagah in the Qatari top-flight team.

The 35-year-old midfielder joined Saipa in July 2015 on a one-year deal but parted company with the Iranian team by mutual consent.

He has joined Al-Arabi on a four-month contract for an undisclosed fee.

Nekounam started his playing career with Pas in 1998 and joined the UAE’s Al-Wahda after seven years.

The former Iran captain has also played for Osasuna, Esteghlal and Al-Kuwait.
